Zakk Wylde Les Paul Bullseye

From his early work with Ozzy Osbourne, to his seminal playing with Black Label Society, to his distinctive solo outings, Zakk Wylde has distinguished himself as one of the most fierce lead players in all of rock. A technique as furious and aggressive demands a guitar to match. Gibson Custom is honored to work with Wylde to create a guitar that features his trademark bullseye graphics, EMG humbucking pickups and raw, unfinished necks. The Zakk Wylde Les Paul from Gibson Custom is the ultimate weapon for guitarists looking to hack out anything from metal to grunge to the most raw shred styles.

    my dream guitar
  • It takes the Custom Shop from two to three months to build this guitar. And these luthiers are some of the best in the world. So they don't work cheap. If you want a cheaper guitar, go elsewhere. This guitar has a maple neck. And it is the ONLY Les Paul besides my prototype that does. That makes it rare as well as incredible sustain & tone.
You whiners need to go to the Martin forum, Taylor Forum or somewhere else to complain & moan. Go try to tell George Gruhn what a guitar should cost.
These special instruments are not made for the everyman. Then they wouldn't be special. You speak from that ugly place called envy and jealousy. Shut up.
  • I just ordered this guitar yesterday...what is 2 or 3 months after waiting for 20 years to actually buy it !!!! I can't wait !!!! It was the happiest day of my life !!!!
  • i'm dreaming with this guitar !! ;p
  • My brother has one like this & its such a beautiful electric guitar :D
  • I'm sure this is an awesome guitar. Zakk Wylde is an extremely talented musician. That is where most of his sound comes from. Also, nobody should have to pay the MSRP price for this guitar. The going price for this guitar is currently $4,699.

I own one of these beasts. Worth every last penny. Incredible sound from the EMG's. Unfinished neck in far superior to others I have played. Overall 10/10 amazing guitar. I would buy again in a heartbeat
  • So...besides the EMG's, what's the difference between this and any other Les Paul with that bridge style?

I could buy a Les Paul Studio, sand the paint off, put a bullseye on it and slap in the EMG's and it would be the same guitar... for nowhere near the outrageously high price. And don't kid yourselves...it's outrageously high priced.

Price does not determine value. For as much as I'd pay for this guitar, I could build 3 that play just as well, if not better...and without the buyer's remorse that I am almost positive I would have after shelling out $6,000+  on this guitar (or any "artist" guitar for that matter)

Not that I don't like Zakk. I think he's amazing.  I just think this "custom" guitar is a waste of $$. He probably doesn't even see most of the profits from it.
  • Most people who cannot hear the difference between a LP Studio and a LP Custom are not really musicians and have NO BUSINESS owning anything better than a Fender Squire. Go back to the hole you crawled out of, if you can't afford a fantastic instrument FINE, but don't knock it just because you can't have it!
I can't have it, but I STILL APPRECIATE IT FOR WHAT IT REALLY IS!!!
  • The guitar is hand made Vs, machine/hand finished like the standard Gibson line.  The woods chosen are higher grade.  The fit and finish are quite higher than the standard Gibson line.  It's got a 3 piece maple neck, which isn't even available on any Gibson and hasn't been since the days of the sandwich construction models from decades ago.  Maple is more stable and has a great tone.  The binding is hand laid and just about every facet of the guitar is meticulously constructed to make sure it's a superior instrument.  It, and other Gibson Custom instruments are much nicer than the Studio/Standard line.  You can't even compare them.  Your rant sounds more bitter and unrealistic than what the reality of these guitars actually provide the player.  I have had quite a few Studio Les Pauls, and a Traditional Les Paul.  I own a Custom ZV and it feels as if it was made by the best craftsman Gibson has.  I don't have any buyers remorse whatsoever and unlike my other Gibsons which I am not completely attached to I am in love with my custom. In a blind play test I could pick mine over anything else you handed me 100% of the time.
  • this has a maple neck and is solid, not weight relieved or chambered like most other les pauls. those are the structural differences. the cosmetic differences are obvious. this guitar is the best sounding metal guitar made, but like all Gibsons is overpriced. knock 2K off the price and maybe its worth it.
  • man, as of what I hear, it's not just the EMG pickups, but also some of the hardware that is inside the guitar. I'm no expert here dude, just trying to help ya out with what I gathered since I had the very same doubt myself, seeya round mate.
  • I Like the guitar, accept the pick-ups and the golden hardware......

Cant wait, picking mine up in 2-3 weeks. Gotta love the Bullseye :)
  • After delays, finally picked it up. Worth the wait, even just looking at it is pleasing. My other LPs are jealous :)
  • is it made all year or is it limited

i think its an alright guitar just i hate all of zack wildes pickups. i tried it out and i hate them. its hard to hammer on and pulloff.
  • then you dont know how to hammer on/ pull off. they are actives which make it easier to do.
  • Very true because Zakk Wylde is the kind of guy that picks almost all of the notes.
  • Even if u cant Play , Just Standing On Stage with this thing will get you laid !
