FWIW. I came up with this today. Reamed out a standard LP jack plate to hold a switch while I soldered. One snug screw and it's stable. Leaves good lead lengths for service too.

Thanks for the tip! Surely makes the job easier and less likely to damage the finish with solder or hot soldering iron.
