<p>I use Brite-Tone, which is a water based poly type cross-linking lacquer from what I can tell. It's designed to shoot right out of the can. I use analyne dyes to tint. It takes a few days to cross-link, so coats burn in to each other if you re-coat same or next day, but after that you need to scuff sand. Very forgiving and easy to work with for me.</p>
