I am "restoring" for the lack of a better term, an old Kay flanged banjo from the 40's-50's for a friend. Not a lot of value here, but I want to do my best to make it nice. Most of these are usually mahogany. This is plain maple neck with a mildly-figured  curly maple veneer deep resonator. Unfortunately someone sanded all the finish off the resonator and the few remaining spots of finish left on the neck are sort of a medium orangey-brown. It is not really a red-mahogany and tobacco brown is too dark, I really don't want to get into 100% color-matching custom lacquer, so I'm wondering what color Behlen Encore Brown is. i cant find it on a color chart. i was thinking I might do a light sunburst, but I haven't found any pictures of an original banjo that is exactly like this. I'm not sure it had a sunburst but I think it would be nice. Any suggestions? Brown Mahogany, Burnt umber, ????
