Does Zinsser brand Universal Sealcoat adhere to Cyanoacrylate? I called Rustoleum and they have not tested this. Wondering if anyone (Frank Ford!) has used this stuff over super glue?

I know that its essentially de-waxed shellac dissolved in denatured alcohol, just like you would dissolve flake shellac so it should stick to just about anything, but there are some other additives in there so I'm not sure if it has any adhesion problems with glues like…

I am awaiting delivery of a second-hand Big Muddy mandolin, which, in conversations with the maker, I have learned is finished with French-polished shellac.

I'm also wondering if there is a safe way to add a subtle sunburst effect to the top, using colored shellac, or if I should just get that idea out of my head altogether and let well enough alone.

Thanks for any info, tips, tricks, or observations! Here is what these mandos look like, as they come from the maker:
Additives in Shellac for durabulity?tag:fretsnet.ning.com,2011-11-09:2177249:Topic:769932011-11-09T18:42:16.616ZGabriel Dehoyoshttps://fretsnet.ning.com/profile/GabrielDehoyos

I restore a lot of classical guitars and find myself french polishing a lot. I have read in old books about adding tree resins and ox gall to make the shellac more durable. As of now I use the standard shellac/190proof mix & elbow grease. Have you had any experience with additives and shellac.
