Hi Frank,

It is a working, super sized Fender bass copy built by luthier John Gray from Washburn, WI.

It is a novelty item created for Mark Rubal to use occasionally in his band Captain Rat And The Blind Rivets. Marks operates a recording studio (Pogo Studio) in Central Illinois.

I host a vintage instrument exhibit every other year or so and always try to include it, a real conversation piece alright!
