My 1967 Hummingbird was recently STOMPED on!!!!!! Tho top and part of the side near the upper bout are destroyed. This guitar is special to me, so I really want to revive it. As a Gibson endorsee, I'm able to get a new top from the custom shop, but first I need to remove all of the binding and old glue. So basically question 1 is : how do I break the 41 year old glue joints that I need gone without damaging the (perfect) neck, back, and other bout?? I've heard steam, de-ionized water, heat, denatured alcohol, and Acetone. This page came highly reccomended, and I really need some advice from you pro's out there. If anyone ca help please drop a line to
