Blue Comet Mandolin rattle

I have an interesting mandolin here, a Blue Comet with the double chamber that is "not a resonator". Whatever is in there is very loose and there is no access to it. There is a bolt inside, and i'm wondering if anybody has attempted maybe setting it up to determine the final bridge position, and then maybe drilling a small enough hole to get an adequate screwdriver in there to tighten up whatever is in there.
