Finish ? on the top of a Taylor.

Hello, I was hoping to get some advice, I will add that I am not a pro just a competent diy'er. I just purchased a nice 2005 Taylor 214e with some issues dry out cracks and bracing problems all that is fixed. The issue I have now is someone decided to adhere one of those triangle shaped pick holders right behind the bridge on the top " ack ". So now I have this light colored triangle spot. Do i sand the spot and stain to match? I don't want try something and make it look worse. Finish is not one of my strong suits as in I've never done it on a guitar. The Taylor has a satin finish. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

This is one of those annoying things that is much easier to make worse than better. If it were mine, I'd make sure all the residue had been removed, then leave it alone. Over time, and sometimes only a short time, it will begin to gain color similar to the rest of the top. It may be possible to do a decent match with amber shellac ....... or not. this is one of those repairs when I keep reminding myself that less is more.

Benjamin, in my opinion, there is about 100% of nothing to be done about it. It's U.V. light that has darkened the top, so all you could possibly do, is leave the guitar is a window that gets lots of sunlight, for months at a time. It is possible after quite a while the triangle will get less and less obvious. Live with it and move on my friend. Taylor's  can be great axes, just enjoy it for what it is.

Thanks guys that was what I was leaning towards, but sometimes perfectionism gets the best of me.
