FRETS.NET

I recently came across these great podcasts while poking around the itunes store. The guys over at the Fretboard Journal have taped some really great phone interviews with musicians and luthiers and put them up as free podcasts on itunes.

They did a great interview with our own Frank Ford. Also, some other favorites of mine were the interviews with TJ Thompson, Roland White, Richard Hoover, etc...

The audio quality can be a little rough on some of the interviews but most sound just fine.

Just thought I'd give everyone here on the forum a heads up on these as they are really great to listen to while driving around or working in the shop.

(arrggh.... once again, one of my pet peeves rears it's ugly little head...)

We live "in the sticks" and our only access to the internet is via satellite.  Satellite internet has improved tremendously in terms of speed, but we're still stuck with severe limits on upload/download bandwidth. That translates to no access to YouTube, no Skype, no podcasts... and the list goes on.

Someday, I guess, someone will string a DSL or cable line out our way... but, until that happens, there's a lot of frustration over not being to able to participate in some of the fun things... and the Fretboard Journal podcast sure seems like one of those "fun things" :)
