Hi,
This is my first post here. I joined because I've been trying for years to track down the maker of a guitar I bought about 20 years ago, and I think he may have been at one time a member on here.
The guitar in question was made by a luthier in Suffolk in the early 2000s. The maker was called George Wood, and he worked out of Mildenhall, Suffolk. Basically, all I want to do is thank the man (if he's still in this plane of existence) for making such a beautiful instrument. It was the guitar I didn't know I'd been looking for all my life. One of those, you know.
I'd also be interested to know if there's any more knocking about. I've changed some of the electronics, because I didn't get on with the coil-splitter circuit, so I just had it set up like a classic Les Paul, with just a three-way switcher and separate tone and volume pots. I also changed the pickups at the same time, putting in some oil city ones, modelled on a 59 Les Paul. It's a beautiful workhorse of a guitar that's done probably 500 odd gigs over the years, and I'd like very much to thank the person who made it!
Any information would be very welcome.
Thanks,
Joel
