Depends on the kind of separation, I think. If the heel is loose, the best repair is fairly extensive - removing the neck and resetting, regluing it. If the neck is cracked, a bit of thin viscosity cyanoacrylate might be just the ticket, along with clamping it.
Cyanoacrylate is "super glue" and it eats lacquer, so it can be a bit risky to use. Bear in mind I suggested it ONLY for cracked wood, not a loose joint.
