I too, have been thinking of a way to prep myself for bringing in some income potential through my wood widdling. I went so far as to get a Washington State business license as a repair person. Oddly, this is the same business category as plumber and stereo woofer repairman.
I am looking to building a resonator/dobro guitar as my next "personal" guitar. I waver between guitars to sell and guitars to hoard.
I keep a watch out on eBay for "project" guitars, like you, but it's amazing how high the bidding gets for trashed units that need an amazing amount of work to get functional.
Keep it up, as Charles said, "It's a worthy endeavor". Or at least that's what I remember.
Hey Rick, couldn't mistake that mug anywhere. Just dropped in Frets.com to do some research and saw you prominently displayed. Seems you are exceedingly busy with all sorts of projects. I'm starting guitar number 5, and I have just recently decided to sully my reputation by embarking on a repair business on the side. Just finished building my first Charles Fox side bending machine.
