Hello Steve, I hope you get this. I own a guitar made by you that I acquired from Rick Ruskin in about 1985. According to Rick,
"It was originally commissioned by a student of mine in the mid 70's but he backed out of the deal. The maker, Steve Aitken, was tying up loose ends before shutting his shop down. I ended up with what is now your guitar in lieu of the one I had ordered but was never to be finished.
"What you have is a OOO (Triple O) size guitar with a 14-fret neck. . The top is cedar while the body is made of a material called Fibron. It is not a synthetic but a wood product and is sawed, bent and sanded just like wood. It has sonic properties very close to Brazilian Rosewood but of course, looks nothing like it."
I've been wanting to sell it and it's currently at The Guitar Store in Seattle and they've got it for sale at $500.
What can you tell me about this guitar to help them sell it? As I'm sure you know, people love to know something about what they're buying, and I'd love to learn more about this beauty, too. I've enjoyed playing it over the years.
Thanks very much for any light you can shine on all this!
