Anyone have any recipes for Gibsons Goldie Finish or there own variation of it?.

Hello again Ian.

That's a simple amber finish with a faded brown burst.

Your best source for info on that finish will be found at: http://www.reranch.com/reranch/  They also sell all the cool nitro colors, clears & shaders that any shop would ever need.  Be sure to check out their main pages as well.

To parrot Mike; Dan's book is a "must have" too.

To Mike: It's not a gold top finish.  This is just one more attempt by Gibson to take a stock LP and do something "different" to it and jack the price by a few thousand.  Why their corporate guys aren't in prison for some kind of ethics violation is beyond me (;

I knew about dans book Dan Eriliwine is my hero lol or a hero of all it seems like. but thanks paul i will check that site out. and yea your telling me they jack up the price!!!, thats why i got into building in the first place because the guitars are expensive. and lol whats ethical anymore in this world lol. also thanks everyone your advice is a great help.
