Kay Barney Kessel truss rod in heel.

Hi , I just want to check.I have a barney Kessel Kay and in the heel of the neck there's a deep hole with a threaded rod . So it's the truss adjustment , right? But I can see no nut down in there.Neck's just right as it is , so its an academic point but what's the deal ? Len
