I'm looking for someone with specialized knowledge about repairing a Japanese Koto. A friend who lived in Japan for many years has one and she plays and composes for it. It hit the floor in an unfortunate accident, recently. A local violin maker has repaired most of the damage but we're stumped about what method to use to tie the strings back in--knots, tension, etc. So does anyone know someone here in the US or elsewhere who builds or works on these and can provide information?

My friend speaks Japanese very well but I'm not sure she can write it on her computer. She says her general vocabulary is excellent but she might have trouble with more technical language. Her partner, however, speaks and writes very well (she did tech translations in Japan) and could help when she's back in town at the end of teh month.

Any help would be appreciated, and thanks.
