I have a Taylor 812C with a few problems that I would like repaired. The problems: bad buzz in the G string, not really in tune up and down the neck (though that may be my ear more  than the guitar); it may need a new nut, bridge, or a drastic neck reset. Can anyone point me towards a repairperson in the Oakland, CA area that can evaluate the guitar and perhaps make repairs?

Thanks,

You might want to look up Stewie Port ((stewartportguitars.com). He is in Oakland (which I understand is in California).

If it were mine, I'd make that short trip across the bridge and head towards Gryphon Guitars in Palo Alto! They're a Taylor dealer and who's gonna do better work than Frank Ford? Nobody, that's who:) No contest.

But if "closer" is required, there's another dealer... Blue Note Music on Telegraph Ave.in Berzerkely...
I SECOND THIS OPINION TAKE IT TO FRANK AT GRYPHON YOU CAN CLICK HIS LITTLE ICON TO THE RIGHT THE GUITAR LUTHIER WITH THE AX
Have you tried another string? This could be a bad string issue. Talk about a quick & easy fix...

I'm just north of Berkeley, BTW.
Sadly, I've changed the strings quite a few times. I really think it's a bridge problem. I've taken the majority advice here and written Frank Ford -- now I just have to wait for a time when I can be without a guitar (if there is such a time) to take it in for repair.

If anyone would like to lend me a Gitane D-500 while my Taylor is in for repair, that'd be great :)
