So it was the Precision Drum Wrap company that had 'close' to the colour that I needed ( as per the M.O.T.S. thread). There are so few places that sell this stuff, and none of them were close to what I needed for these headstocks.
Even this MOTS is a bit busy, but like I said, it was all that was available. I will be doing some experiments with a yellow/amber tinted acetone spray to see if I can get some permanent colour into the stuff.
Any other suggestions as to how to do this are more than welcome.
Have you spent any time looking into formica tables. I looked around on ebay for a bit and saw a couple that look like they might provide the needed material. http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-FORMICA-DINNING-TABLE-YELLOW-/36049...
Down side is you are buying a whole table, up side is that you will have a lot of material at your disposal once you do all the work of removing it.
