Hello
I had a request to do a neck reset on a National guitar. I've done plenty of resets on regular guitars in the past but never on a National. Is there anything different on a National that I should be aware of or is it the same procedure. Thanks for any info you guys could give.

CALL THEM THEY ARE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
There are several differences, Michael. Is this a metal body, I presume? First, there are little screws under the dots in the fingerboard over the body that go into chunks of wood. Also under the cone there are dowels that support the neck dowel against the back. Those have little brads through them. Once you get it apart, not only do you have to shave the heel, but the neck dowel has to rotate up as the neck rotates back, so those supports have to be shimmed, the hole in the end of the dowel for the tailpiece has to be moved, and the dowel actually shortened a bit. feel free to ask more questions when you have it apart.

I've done quite a few of these, and I worked at Dobro back in the Long Beach days in the 70s.
To Paul and Greg, thanks so very much for the info.
Michael
