I'm looking to refret my Alvarez acoustic/electric guitar with larger frets.  I initially thought about switching the bridge with a lower one but was afraid of screwing up the intonation.  Is there anything I should consider when switching out frets with larger ones?

If "larger" = "taller", then there is every possibility that you will either have to shim the existing nut or fit a new one.
You'll also want to remember that if your new frets have a wider tang than the old ones and you don't alter them before you install them, you're in all likelihood going to be taking some of the relief out of the neck.
If you're happy with the relief now and don't want to go mucking about with the truss rod too much afterward, it would be a good thing to try and match up the frets' tang width fairly closely beforehand.
