I love this guitar! The owner is a true player. He just can't decide where to mount his strap... .LOL

Most of the finish is gone and the fretboard is basically scalloped from the 17th fret up.

Looks like a golf course or pirate's ear lobe. plug them holes. Or not.
drive some soft wood splinters on the holes with supper glue and replace the screw with a larger size and longer one.

This guy is playing through with no button repairs. He's got plenty of fresh mounting ground with his current hardware. I am just fixing the switch. That's the way he wants it. :) Arrrgh
Why not just mount buttons in all the holes ?
Maybe one if us should invent a locking slide for the button. Route it into the edge of the guitar and let the player adjust it as needed. Perhaps an extruded "T" shaped rail that a button slides upon? That could be mounted without major modifications to the instrument.

Why not a channel that runs thru each hole utilizing a friction type screw to slide as needed up and down the canal. This is my last suggestion.
