Undersaddle pickup

After reading this article I feel like I can install a under-saddle pickup.  I have repaired my 12 string by moving the jack so the plug would not lose contact.  I use to make jewelry and still have the tools so I'm use to doing small work.

Since the pickup that is mentioned I would like to know if you would suggest the Fishman Matrix Infinity?  I also was looking at the Fishman AG-Series Undersaddle Pickup and the Martin Gold+Plus Pickup.  Any input on what to choose.

 

Question two how is the volume control on the Fishman Matrix Infinity attached? Glue, screw, tape?  I think they want you to lacquer it before you tape it?

 

Question three the Endpin Jack Reamer from www.stewmac.com is 67.96.  Can I buy a reamer at Lowes Home Improvement and be careful?

These pickups work fine, but I have better results (read more Hi-Fi) with Schertler or B-Band undersaddle pickups.

I agree with Pierre on the quality of pickups , about the reamer , I have good results with a speed bore bit of the correct size which is 12mm I think but 1/2" is ok . Make sure it goes in straight , if u have a tapered end pin you may need to leave it in and drill through it to keep the bit centred .I think the vol pot is taped on and as long as the wood has no dust or polishing compound it will hold on , but a wipe of wood glue then dried will help.

I didn't notice question 3... since I'm a professionnal luthier from France and considering Stewmac is an easy way for me to get that kind of tool, plus I've sometime got little troubles drilling these holes with a brad point bit, I bought the stewmac reamer. Perfect. If you're a amateur luthier, don't bother buying a tool like this. Put some masking tape on the area and use drill bits of increasing sizes.
