"Power Pins" anyone?

OK, so I'm always a little naturally suspicious of anything that changes the physics of the guitar as we know it.

Recently there's been a decent advertising splash in the guitar mags for "Power Pins" manufactured by Bigrock Engineering, that describe a new way to anchor strings to the bridge.  A big benefit is said to be the protection of the bridgeplate.

In one of their…

Hi Mike.

I couldn't find a US or Canadian source for Evolon.

If you locate one, could you pass the source info on to me?

Thx much,

Thanks for the nice words Mike, the new picture is of me playing the Martin D-35 I re-built a while ago, but I had to laugh as I read your comment about the old picture. "Frumpy?" I can't win whatever I do, I'm the least photogenic person in the world :-) Like we say in England "You can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear" Take care

Certainly certainly. The top plate is quilted sapele and the body wings are quartersawn sapele and black walnut stringers.

Thanks Mike, that's what I was hoping to hear about. Balancing the vac output with the multiple small hoses. I'm about to order some Loc-Line parts and was thinking maybe 3/8"  diam or even bigger. I notice Frank's rig has 4 lines on a side. seems like any more would get crowded. that's why I was thinking bigger.

I think it's impossible to evaporate water that fast. The idea is to keep the temperature down. I've been using a hokey vinyl hose with holes arrangement I'm looking to improve on.

I'll keep you posted

Thank you Mike for your interest in my fretted fingerboard project. My final comments are not directed at you personally and I want you to know I respect your abilities and thoughts. It just pisses me off when someone like me (a noob) comes onto a board like this asking for some thoughts and guidance and get crap like I did from the so-called experts.

I now realize that very few if any of the members here actually venture out into the violin world at all, why should they...there's a ton of guitars out there that need specialized service and care & attention.

Your remarks have been very decent and inquiring and I thank you for your time.
