Not sure if this re-inventing a well known wheel?  This was my solution for a 1970's Fender neck replacement with a four bolt neck. My goal was to allow the owner the option to return to the original parts if desired without visible extra holes. Part one was make a custom plate. Part two was simple drill guide using the existing top holes to center the new bottom holes. The new plate is aluminum. Note: this will not work with the original neck as the 'tilt discs' will not allow it.

Nice work, Thomas.... that looks great!

I recall a colleague using a couple of additional blind screws concealed under the original plate to get four bolt (5) performance while retaining the three bolt look.

Thank you. Mike

Rusty, I like that idea! Maybe next time round :) For now, this cat is happy.

On another note: I installed some new pickups as well. Magic Coil brand from Italy. New to me, and they sound quacky excellent.

Cheers, Tom
