i am building a 1 piece top and 1 piece back take a look it is the box in the middle has anyone built like this recently here is the deal here i 1/4 turned the top to achieve 1 piece you can see the sap wood at either end top/bottom give me your advice please if you have built 1 piece before what do you think about 1 piece tops/backs

Never tried it myself, but here's a guitar from 1865 with diagonal top grain:

Never tried or test a diagonal or cross grain top until now. From what I know about stiffness differences between along and across the grain directions, you'll maybe have to change your bracing.
