bent side first to glued to the top or first cut to exact depth

two sides of rosewood have been bent they are 5 and half inches in width

should i be cutting the sides to 4 inches and shaping it for the arched back i.e. approx. 3.75 inches at the neck joint

or

should i first glue it to the top and then cut and shape

well happy i like to sand the sides once braced in the jig still. sand the sides in a raised dish with the same radius you are using for the shape of the top /back ,so that the Kurffing will Match up Nicely and you have an air tight float down the river box .you can ban saw a portion off and sand the rest of the way
