I'm a sculptor casting my bronze sculpture in my studio foundry, and I want to help a friend who dropped his Paramount style F banjo and broke one of the geared tuner housings. I will be able to make a good mold of the original housing in order to recreate the part, and would like to cast the new part in bronze and have it gold-plated. The original part was cast in white metal with gold plating. Since I have the ability to use various metals, is bronze a good choice, and, if not, what metal would be preferable?
Before attempting this, are there any good replica parts available for the style F and if so, where can they be found? Thanks, Terry
