Cleaning old Brass Machine Heads

Does anyone have a good solution to restore a set of very old very tarnished Tuners,they are almost black.Cheers

vinegar cleans pennies try one....dont know about brass

You might try a product called Nev-R-Dull. It's an impregnated wadding that comes in a small metal can. It should work through the heavy tarnish without completely removing the patina that gives old metal parts such charm.

I'd try some 0000 steel wool. Applying more or less pressure will give you a good control of the patina you'll keep..
