DiGeorgio 12string with almost no bracing

Hi Guys , Im sure a lot of you have seen these DiGeorgio guitars from Brazil ( I think ) . So whats the deal on making a 12 string with only a bridge plate for bracing?Any easy ideas for retro-fitting some braces?Thanks again Frank , I'm hooked! Len
