Framus Black Rose Deluxe

I have a Framus Black Rose Deluxe arch top on the bench , the neck is very bowed and as the machine heads are large like classical type , I wonder if it was intended to work with classical stings ? As I said it's an archtop from the 1950's (I think ) Any ideas ?

Having another look I now see the tailpiece is typical steel string type , so that answers my question .
