Seems like we're seeing more of those F-50s and other models with missing fingerboard binding.

 

Anybody have a source for the impossibly skinny plastic B/W/B/W laminations Guild used below the binding on so many guitars?

Unfortunately, you can pretty much count the suppliers of celluloid nitrate on one hand.  I've had Bill James custom cut odd sizes of binding for Gretsch rebinds.  He is also now selling sheet stock of various sizes.  Also, I've ordered sheets of black, white, and ivoroid directly from Delmar, but what they have in stock varies from time to time.  Either way, you have to buy a fair amount of it for it to be worthwhile.  You'll probably have to do your own laminating, but such is the life of a luthier.
