FRETS.NET

Greetings to all-- I am in need of some help in the math area-- Im making a jig to cut a neck pocket in a solid body guitar and was wondering what the angle in inches is for a 3 degree angle.
I believe that if you have a 6 degree angle then the formula is 1/2 inch per foot.
(correction accepted)
thanx in advance for any help...

Hi Bob -- the thing of the whole thing is that I am making the body and the neck from scratch-- now-- the first time I did a neck pocket I just did some figuring and put the neck pocket shallow enough so I could get the action set rite.
NOW--- the thing looked strainge and not only that I couldnt get to the upper frets above say the 18 fret becayse the ares was too thick to wrap my hands around. SOOOOOOOO-- I said to my self "SELF" there has to be a better mouse trap for this thing than the way Im doing it and I then put on my best thinking cap and came up with the method that I want to use..
I think maby I should describe the body to you too--
Its 1-3/8 inch thick and the heel on the neck is 8/7 inch thick--(not including the fret board)
it will be a set neck--
If I forgot anything then post it and I will take notes ok??
Thanx for the reply

See, Don, this is where you lose me. I've never made a solid body in my life and have only played one a handful of times. I don't have a clue about solid body bridge dimensions or what it means to build a set neck so from here on out, someone else is going to have to step in and help you. I'd just stress that drawing out a side view of the setup is going to suggest some decent solutions.

Best,
Bob
