FRETS.NET

Hi gang - New to the forum so thanks for the invite. Hoping someone maybe near Stewart MacDonald luther tools plant in Athens Ohio can help me out. My D-35 1982 Westerly Guild is in bad need of the frets crowned as they are almost flat on the crown but not really pitted. Lost my 1/8"medium burr to do the job that fits into the handle. For this 3oz.item which is about $15.00 , they want another $8.00 to ship up to me almost next door in Ontario.Pretty sure it would get here fine in a envelope with a $1.70 international stamp taped inside a piece of paper.Willing to send international money order to someone willing to help beat this crazy shipping cost they want.
If someone even has a old used one they would be will to sell drop me a line also?-nanccinut

Hi Bob -Take a look again as missed a "W" in your e-mail ! -Thanks-Rob
An extension on the diamond fret file if you will....Unbelievable tool and timesaver...My first one lasted about a decade...Then I found one cheaper on ebay....No safe edges, diamonds started flaking off from the get go....Bad Ju Ju...The new Stew Mac has the whole tool covered as apposed to the half and half I got a decade ago...A fine, fine tool...Worth every penny...I may buy a couple more to be sure in case they change it again!!!

I bought a Stew Mac Diamond file and all the grit delaminated off the file ,They did nothing of course ,

   out 80 bucks ,

So i bought a 220?320 Diamond crown file off Ebay for about Half the cost ,It`s really a great File ,I have done 6 fret jobs now and it` cuts just like i first got it , The problem with Diamond files is you have to use Carb cleaner to keep them cleaned out .

I would say support the Guys that build the Diamond files on ebay ,There coming right along .

And Dont use these Diamond files on stainless steel frets it pulls the diamonds right off the files,

Use a Regular steel cut file off Ebay then use the Diamond files to put the Finish on the frets,
