OR ROUTE DOWN THE BRIDGE
I have reset 3 ovations that were not no reset the angle...( thank you chebus )..The fingerboard extensions came up O.K. with some well designed tools....hint, not the biggest hamer,. the second biggest....just kidding....If you have any space between the fingerboard and the top you have a chance...At this point,..you could change the angle of the reset...or....You could try to get it in perfect pitch.......At that point, the perfect pitch may be when it goes into the dumpster without hittng the sides!
Sorry, I forgot the serious part....I dremeled..( with a ball type bit )..little nubs all over the neck and heel of the joint...then more epoxy...Fix an Ovation with hide glue, let me know...
WELL ITS GONE HOME TO PLAY ANOTHER DAY I TOLD HER TO SEND IT TO OVATION THANKS FOR THE HUMOR LOL
If you can`t loosen the fretboard it is always possible to grind it down to under the fretgroves. Then glue a new one over the rest of the old one. Then you can quiet freely deal with the the shape of the new one and for example adjust the stringhigh in that way.

But just if the customer is ready to pay you for every moment of that work, it ain´t worth any sacrificing on Ovations.....nope!
WELL DID YOU SEE THAT SHE TOUCH IT HOME ALL READY

and remember when working on Ova's you're repairing a helicoptor as all the materials in the beginning were from a coptor factory....spruce for blades, fiber composites to include epoxies so...I visted the Conn.original in mid'60's and saw this...felt like

Area 51 must ..building stealth guitar lutes!
