I have an older Washburn electric (actually my son's)..it is a metalflake blue with lots of metalflake..it recently had a big chip knocked out of it..and is down to bare wood..there seems to be a coat of black primer followed by the metalflake..I was able to get some of the chip..but also there is plenty of it under the pickups in the cavity..I was hoping someone could help in some advice in how to repair..I had some people grind the chips up and mix with superglue? Ive also heard that you can grind them up and mix with lacquer (if its a lacquer finish) or poly if its a poly finish..some even suggested shellac..any help would be deeply appreciated..

Thanks so much

looks to me like you could use some super glue and put that chip back where it came from and then verry carefully sand the chip and surrounding area a lil and then use some trans blue with sparkle in it and it should look acceptable....  Peace,Donald

thanks Donald...the chip is actually a lil bigger than the one in the body..this is a chip I got from under the pickups..but I guess I could try to size it up..then follow up like you suggested..should a put a primer undercoat down first?

again thanks..
