Piezo Saddles (for tune-o-matics)
has anyone here whacked one with a hammer to see what's inside? Looks like the actual saddle where the string rests is wrapped in something ... flexible?

hi Penql yep you are correct - each one of thoes saddles is a mini pickup-
I have a hybred that I have up on the drawing board and it includes this bridge
to be used on it -- I must admit tho at a 150 dollar plus price tag Im not about to smack one of the saddles to see what makes it tick ( SORRY)--

Ah, so if you have one there... the little metal bit that the string rests on has something surrounding it - if you poke that stuff, is it hard or is it rubbery? That's my mystery.
By the way - loved the pics you posted of that guitar. You're gonna need a $1000 suit and some new cowboy boots to play it - very classy!

The bridge that I have is made by LRBaggs and the saddle that the string rests on is steel(I think) and the thing that its wrapped in is gold and it is hard and metal like.
I hope Im explaining this ok because sometimes I have a hard time with things...
BTW-- Thanx fopr the complements on the axx that Im working on- Im making a few changes from origonal plan but basically it will be the same...
