Hello to all!!!
I'm new to the forum and also new to the field of repair. I'm working on a headstock reglue for an Ibanez electric with a poly finish. I was wondering; what would be the best way to do some finish touch up... Someone told me clear nail polish and some finish sanding would work.. What say you guys?

If you can post some pictures you may get more meaningful responses, but I assume you have cracks and chips in the rather thick finish. After cleaning up glue residue, I'd wick in thin cyanoacrylate followed by thicker CA to fill the larger defects. Wait for complete cure, scrape and wetsand to level, and buff.

Lacquer won't penetrate those finish cracks very well, and would take forever to stop shrinking in the deeper chips. Touchup with CA could be finished the next day.
