I have a Rex Professional Five String Banjo, open back,hand crafted wooden neck, appaers to very old but in great condition, I hoping somebody has more information on these type of banjo's, thanks.

I don't know where to direct you but Rex is a Gretsch brand name. You might try Google searches with the Gretsch name.
