Due to the large amount of Rosewood harvested illegally in great part to the expanding market of Chinese furniture made from the often highly figured wood, all of the roughly 300 species of Rosewood known to exist will soon be added to CITES with certain trade restrictions: Story Here

Sad, but true. Then luthiers,who only use such a tiny amount of wood, are blamed for it. Or , at least, aren't guilty
of pilferage of the world's precious resources. It seems, though, that we have access to a much wider variety of tonewoods
than in days gone by, and some of them must equal BRW. ?
