My son's guitar ( Norman ST40) is separating 2-3 mm where the neck meets the body. I'm going to glue it up for him but am having time trying to figure out a way to get enough pressure on it. I don't have any clamps that seem proper or big enough. Any ideas? I thought about rigging something up with some bungee cords.

Good thing you asked. Norman guitars, like all of the brands from Godin, have bolt-on necks. Peel the label off the neck block and you'll reveal the 2 bolts that secure the neck. The only glued surface is the fingerboard extension.

Once you tighten the bolts you'll have to determine if they have stripped from the heel itself. If so, the neck will need to come off.
Thanks much for the quick reply. I can see at the separation that the lower bolt has stripped but not the upper.
I'm not sure about being able to take the neck off.
Hi Wayne- If you use a heating iron on the end of the finger board and a thin putty knife between the fret board and the body it will come free and from there its a simple -take the bolts out of the neck thru the sound hole and the neck will come off.
Next look the situation over, deturman what you need to do and fix it,string the git up and play it --
good luck with your adventure--
Donald
