The guitar in question is a CA legacy model guitar, and its all carbon fiber. I've been calling CA for the past few days, but I haven't been able to talk to anyone, and they haven't returned any of my messages yet. Anyone have any ideas?

It looks to be like an epoxy job, considering the materials involved. West System is always good!

Alright, so finally heard from Peavy, and they recommended the dp420 epoxy from 3M.

Thanks for the follow-up!  Good to know.

I wish you well on this one.  I recently faced a similar dilemma with one of those gawdawful Martin aluminum-top guitars.  In the past, Martin has either sent us or recommended some high-tech Loctite product, but now has changed to an even nastier adhesive system that they insist MUST be applied at the factory, and you know who pays shipping.

We were never successful in getting the Loctite stuff to hold for long, so now we have a simple process - FIVE small countersunk 4-40 bolts with small nuts inside.   The damn aluminum is thin and flexible enough that a tiny gap still tends to open at the back edge, but there's no problem with the bridge staying in place.  "Tone" could hardly be compromised!

Maybe they need a biscuit bridge and a tail piece?

Was the loctite stuff epoxy?

My last build was an aluminium bodied octave guitar. Aluminium front, back, sides, and bridge plate, mahogany blocks amd spruce bracing. This was all glued together with pound shop epoxy resin. The trick was to abrade the aluminium surfaces with a stainless steel brush just before applying the epoxy. The idea was that the stainless steel brush cut through the aluminium oxide and the mixed epoxy covered the cleaned surface before it could oxidise again. So far it has held together ok for the last couple of weeks. Time alone will tell for the long term but it is for my own use so if it does fail only I loose. My next build will be a wooden octave guitar. Hot hide glue using your methods for that one.
