FRETS.NET

I have a yamaha fg180 1972 year mod. the heel is cracked about 1 in below fret bd. I have taken the truss rod nut off . I can push the neck back to approx the right angle. What would be a way to repair this so it will be strong. I am not overly concerned about the apperance of the guitar because it is my boat guitar. Thanks in advance for any tips.

Hi Morris , with fine cracks that won't need to be reopened , I use Westsystems epoxy its quite thin , and really hangs on .Another choice is hot hide glue but if you donthave it handy , epoxy is easy and cleans up with turpentine ( might have another name in USA ), Push it in with a feeler guage then clamp n clean , adjust the clamp so u cant feel any ridge at the join .
