YAMAHA GUITAR CRACKED LOWER BOUT

IVE been waiting for a while now for this re pair to come along well this crack stayed in the binding area cracked well through i can see the light when i look through the box .so that said the top has separated from the kurffing ,now i was going to tack glue the top to the kurffing again and run this in the binding jig from lmii ?what is your thought please on this ?now if i tack the top down and run through the binding jig route the old off and replace it with new wood binding reestablishing the top glue for a final and replaced binding i think this can work my only major concern is ....poly UUUUUUUUHU and Blow out when the bit travels around I am going to climb cut this one ,in my past post i have very few hours with poly UUhuth .and major unknown for me please if you have any suggestions id be great-full

Paul, I guess it all depends on the expectation of the customer. Personally, I would reglue the top to the kerfing, work some super glue into the portion of crack that runs through the binding, and touch up the glued areas as best as possible. Given it is a poly finish, gluing this up and recutting for new binding is going to potentially lead to all kinds of issues. My experience is that the poly will be difficult to be cleanly cut at the binding edge without chippping. The finish touchup could be a nightmare.

y guess is that if i get any chipping from the bit that since i have the binding open and exposing the kurffing then it shouldn't be that bad to pop the top at that point sand the chip out via radius dish and glue it back up it is extra work for a finished product but yet it is all hypothetical until someone says yea i did it and here are results. i think it is worth a wait for more answers and brain storm . Please any one have you ever routed this off through poly and found and chipping in the top coat or not this is for a repair not a new construction project i d like to be prepared for the end result ?

I'm puzzled why Mark's advice won't work. It looks to me like something I would inject tightbond into from inside and clamp up then address the plastic from outside. I think it's a given that the repair will show unless you go to heroic extremes. Is the guitar worth what you are contemplating?

yes it is if it works here then future guitars can be repaired here by me I can name a price and i am sure others will come in just like it if i can make it look good and perform like nothing happened then yes it is worth the repair

ID LIKE TO SAY THAT I HAVE ACCOMPLISHED THE TASK, THE LMII JIG DID CHIP OUT A BIT IN 1 AREA WELL I CAN LIVE WITH IT AS I ROUTED THE OLD BINDING OFF I WAS ABLE TO SECURE THE TOP EVEN BETTER THE RE PLACE THE BINDING ALL IN ABOUT 2 HOURS ILL POST PHOTOS LATER I AM TIRED LATER
