dear Mr Fortune,
I am an italian guitar maker. A couple of years ago, a client of mine bought from you the truss rod for a Rickenbacker bass.
Now I would need another one for a 4003 model. Can you help me? My email address is info@randegal.com. Thank you very much.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon, sincerely,

Erich Perrotta

Hey, Dale - you built me a Les Paul Custom (burgundy, 3 pickups, vari-tone, 2 truss rods) out of your Santa Ana garage back in '79 or '80. I think you gave it serial # of 7! I was in a band called "Phoenix," later "Miramar" in the O.C. The guitar was in a fire in my friend Troy Dexter's house in Canoga Park, CA about 15 years ago, and while the house burned to the ground, the guitar survived (all the finish melted off and the plastic parts vaporized!). I don't really play much anymore, but I've kept the guitar and thought many times about getting it totally re-done for old times' sake, but I guess deep down inside I knew only you should do it. And damn - here you are! Can we talk??? Dave (davem@imageresources.net)

Update - it was actually 1977. I found a picture from the week I got it. Dig my braces!

Hey Dale - It's been a while since I've visited this site. How long have you been waiting for an answer to my being a friend????
I'm still wondering about you and I being related because the last name isn't that common.
Peace- Donald
