Got this in today. The new owner (a good friend of mine), bought it for a song from a bass player who tried to repair it the quick and dirty way. Now he wants me to do it properly. I've already…Continue

Hi Graham!
Could you help me to find some "C" or "U" clamps?
I live in the north of the Netherlands, In Leeuwarden (Not too far away from Lübeck, LOL) but there is no one here that sales these clamps that I need for gluing bridges... Do you have a supplier (pref. not in the USA)? The only source I could find is Madinter.com (as you guess: in spain) but they are now out of stock...
I'm thinking of buying 3 clamps, 1 reach= min 17 centimeter and 2 reach=min 19 cm...
Thanks in advance!
Bart
Hi Grahame!
I'll answer your question on my "clamps quest" using your gmx.de mail adress. Frets.net limmits a message to 2000 characters: I need more.
Nice to see a new picture. Always enjoy your input on the forum!
This is coming from an amateur and dilletante, but I'm learning , and might actually charge for my work someday! C
Hi Grahame... call me old-fashioned, but I cast my vote for your old picture! There was just something about the headgear and the frumpy look that always made me smile.
Anyway, I always appreciate your thought-out posts and the pictures of your clean, well-organized shop. Cheers! /// mike
Hi, Gahame, hope you didn't take my reaction to the plastic Martin discussion Personally. I really agree with your feelings about the lowering of quality and using the Martin name, etc. Didn't mean it as a disagreement with anyone in the discussion. But when I was young I think the selection of cheap guitars to learn on,and/or give to a kid for a present, were worse and not usually set up with playability in mind! Today the standard has been raised so much that a kid probably has a better chance at not being so put off by the difficulty of playing that they soon just quit, which is what happened to the majority of kids. And keep up the good work, again your input is always very enlightenig.
And you can tell Mike Kolb , AKA Porter Wagoner, Maybe he can try to come up with a better picture!
