I use the straightest clear/grain aromatic cedar I can find.
Hi Tim-- How about hard wood, for example maple or alder??
Donald
I have no experience using hard/dense wood for this but suspect the idea is to use feather light material to allow for good good good vibration,,,
OK Tim I understand what you are saying here-- Im in the process of making an
electric guitar that has a hollow body.. solid maple sides with a laminated mahogony back and top -- I have some alder that I thought of using for bracing and was wondering if it would make a differance--
MAHOGANY SUPPER LIGHT WEIGHT MATERIAL
OK Paul and Tim-- looks like Im out voted here and soft wood is the best thing to use,
not only for weight but for resonance... I have plenty of mahogny in my shop and also have some spruce cut for dreds that hasent been shaped as yet so I can use eather one of them... thanx for the imput -- it is appreciated--
Im basically a hard body guitar builder and this "hollow body" stuff is on the new side for me --- peace and thanx again for the imput...
