Hi, everyone. A customer has contacted me about replacing the ebanol fretboard on his 1981 Kramer XL bass with an aluminum neck.
Before I respond to him, I'm trying to figure out how the ebanol was bonded to the aluminum, but I'm not finding anything. Does anyone here know and have some guidance? I'm wondering if it will come off after heating the fretboard and softening whatever glue was used, or if I'm going to have to stick to mechanical means (i.e. chisels, planes, etc.).
Any advice would be much appreciated!

Try the principal at garykramerguitarcellars.com.
I would guess it is epoxy.
