The "best" aquarium air pump

Bought this air pump and returned the next day. Noisy and vibrates so strongly it will move across the counter.

It wont stay in the same place - it vibrates all over. I have to unplug it to hear the tv. I dont really know what to compare it to because its my first one, but I find it very loud and very annoying. Its going back to walmart tomorrow.

I have used and opened up a ToneRite when it went dead. Looked pretty the same to me. Anyway, both of them shakes in the same pace as the alternating current. Maybe 50 Hz in Sweden works better than 60 Hz in the USA ;-)

I'd keep the guitar in its case and run a pink noise generator through a raw, 4" coaxial speaker suspended a 1/2" above the soundboard, centered between the bridge and tail block, and pump the volume until the top is excited. The fidelity of the speaker would be less important than RMS power handling as pink noise really heats up a voice coil.

I have never tried using different frequencies like you describe. Without proof I believe the vibration itself is the main thing here, not the frequency for the vibration. Besides, the aquarium pump does the trick good and easy enough. Having a loudspeaker going at high volume a couple of days would not be appreciated by the neighbors!
