Back Cupping
I have a new classical build with Koa back and sides (no finish) which has developed inward cupping between the lower brace and tail block. It was fine with slight 20’ radius but appears to have fallen victim to improper drying. I have moved it to a more humid environment as well as installed a guitar humidifier with some improvement. Does anyone have any suggestions before I’m forced to replace the back?

I'm no expert on classicals , but it may be possible to push it back into shape with some local heat and some props inside or a magnet inside and steel object outside . worth a try .I have had steel strings crack during a dry spell , but before laquer , and it was the s/bd .....bummer!! Len

dont get to excited some times we need to step back and look smell feel out the problem here it may be totally possible to rebuild i am sure of it but here is the deal you hit it on the nose humidity I was told 120 degrees for an entire day in the ovan helps to dry uncured air dried lumber .this may not be over night although i bet you haven't given up tom
